You can check out books or CDs online at www.booksfree.com, which is similar in format to the popular online movie rental service Netflix (www.netflix.com). In both cases, users pay a modest membership fee and in return can check out multiple titles, which are shipped via regular mail (each book, CD, or DVD comes with a return shipping envelope. All postage costs are free with membership). Unlike you local library, though, there are no due dates or late fees.
