If you like Christine Feehan and Sherryln Kenyon read this book. This author seems to take the best of both of these authors and expands it. A great book.

This is the third book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and my favorite so far. It is easy to fall in love with Zsadist, the scarred warrior whose past haunts him to the point that he feels unworthy of love. Couldn't put this one down. If you like the Anita Blake series or the twilight saga, I recommend this book, however, this mature reading, unlike twilight.

I read this book after that horrible Lover Eternal and it was just what I needed! Now THIS is a love story. Z's one of the most tortured heros I've ever read. He has been through some really horrible abuse and I could feel his pain and suffering. I loved him right away. When he meets Bella he doesn't believe he's good enough for her and pushes her away. Bella is such a strong female that she doesn't easily give up on Z. At times he's really horrible to her. Bella knows that she needs to be gentle but insistent with Z. She knows that he's worth it, even if he doesn't think so. Of course, in the end they get their happily ever after, but the love story was really touching. I loved this book.

J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series is superb! It is far more than a romance novel. It is a whole world in itself. These books a deep, and full of emotion, and complez personalities not normallly found in romance novels. Zsadists story is heartbreaking and uplifting. It lacks speed bumps and keeps you involved and invested the whole way through.
