I happened to receive CROWNED IN A FAR COUNTRY from booksfree just before going on a trip to Hawaii. My man was working part of the time so I needed a distraction as I sat on the beach. This was perfect! I am really into the books about royal personages especially the women but many are bogged down with too many political details which does figure in their reign but goes a little slow for me. I really enjoyed reading about the culture each royal bride experienced, the fashions, decor and trends they set. I dont think it was meant to be a serious study of these women and the authors casual writing style fit the topic well. I enjoyed Queen Vicky because I didnt know much about Queen Victorias daughter. It was fun and interesting and I am glad I took the time to visit these influential ladies!
