Synopsis

Recently divorced and struggling financially, Eli is depressed, angry, and feeling lost. When he inherits his great-aunt Bertha's house, he moves from New York City to a small town for the free rent and shorter distance from his daughter, Meg. While fixing up the house, Eli learns details about Bertha's life that take him through World War II, Europe, and the Holocaust. Through Bertha's story about saving one little boy, Eli embarks on his own journey of self-discovery that helps him connect to his new life in ways he never imagined. By finding Bertha, Eli finds himself.
