Synopsis

This book is about a blended family and how they use Bible stories to instill values into their children's lives and resolve some of the common conflicts. Justin Douglas is a thirty-four-year-old widower with a seven-year-old son, Drew. He marries Brianna, a thirty-three-year-old divorcee with three kids: Tanner, ten years old; Leona, eight years old; and Ryan, four years old. It is written for children twelve years to adult. Brianna's ex-husband has disappeared and that has caused the two older children some sadness that has to be dealt with. There is jealousy, sibling rivalry, and a mysterious young teenager who shows up. Tanner has made friends with a boy who is always in trouble. His parents are worried that instead of Tanner rubbing off on this new friend, the new friend and his habits will rub off on Tanner. Most of the time, the parents are the ones teaching the children, but there are some instances where the children open the eyes of the adults and do the teaching. There are happy times, sad times, and then some mystery added to the story. An old blue Ford seems to be parked around the Douglas's house quite often. Sometimes, they even encounter it when they are out and about. The mystery person shows up on their doorstep with a secret no one expected. Some of the values that are touched on are faith, worrying, forgiving, setting examples, and jealousy.
