Booksfree.com Develops Book Recommendation Software

New software recommends highly-rated paperback or audiobook titles based on members' previous title selections and pending title requests.

(PRWEB) February 22, 2006 -- Booksfree.com, the largest online paperback and audiobook library, has developed new software that recommends highly-rated titles based on members' previous title selections and pending title requests.

"With tens of thousands of titles to choose from, it's not always easy finding the right books," says President and CEO Doug Ross. "By recommending titles that have been highly rated by other members, we have created a new, easy system for members wanting to read or listen to titles in the categories they enjoy."

The new software utilizes a book rating system Booksfree.com implemented approximately six months ago. Members rate books they've rented on a scale of one to five stars. Using this information, Booksfree.com can leverage highly-rated titles and recommend them to members who have read or requested category-related titles. The software will not recommend any titles the members have already read or are currently on the members' list and will only recommend titles with a four-star rating or higher. The titles are ranked by the overall rating and the number of members who have rated them.
