Synopsis

In the mid-century Manhattan of gangsters, prizefighters, showgirls, and two-fisted detectives, a double homicide occurred: dashing restaurant owner Pete McGinn and his friend Richie Glennon were shot to death in a brutal execution-style murder. Decades later, the murder was still unsolved, and Andy Rosenzweig, an inspector for the Manhattan D.A.'s office and a childhood friend of the victims, couldn't forget the case. He decided to track down the chief suspect, a sociopathic petty criminal named Frankie Koehler who had been on the lam for years. Eventually, due to Rosenzweig's dogged persistence, Koehler was apprehended and taken into custody, where he issued what may be one of the most psychologically chilling confessions on record.
