Synopsis

Dismissed by the head chef, Olivia Mott is forced to leave her position in the household of the Earl and Countess of Lanshire. She sails to America with the daughter of her former employer and ends up in the company town of Pullman, Illinois. Using a forged reference letter, Olivia obtains a position as assistant chef in Pullman's elegant Hotel Florence and rents a house provided by the company.
