Synopsis
It's another holiday and Mayor Randall Shiffley has turned Caerphilly, Virginia, into Spooky City, USA. I have a mixed relationship with these books. I like some, other's less so. This was one of the latter. My disappointment/frustration was with a lack of consistency with information. For example, this small, village-like community has a nationally recognized high-tech company, one that fills a 6 story building; a university that has multiple colleges; sponsors a local festival that seems to attract thousands of visitors... and yet has a single gas station. It feels like she is 'writing down to the reader'. No thank you.
