Synopsis

This comic space opera is the first of a trilogy by bestselling SF writer Alan Dean Foster, best known for his Flinx novels. Marcus Walker's friends bet the highly urbanized Chicago commodities trader that he won't be able to camp out for a week in an isolated part of California. But Walker is soon headed for wilder territory when he's abducted during his camping trip by aliens who plan to sell him as a pet.
