Synopsis

He's guarding his heart. Captain Dylan Powell is determined see the men who served under him settled into civilian life before he leaves London for his home in Wales. The task is taking much longer than anticipated, but then, London has become a more appealing place to bide now that Dylan has hired Lydia Lovelace as his housekeeper. She's intimidatingly good at her job, never complains, and remains unwaveringly composed in the face of all provocations. She's guarding secrets. Lydia accepts the post working for Captain Powell because she's trying to find her brother, who should have long since come home from the war.
