Synopsis

The foothills of Appalachia come alive as eldritch religions, familiar addictions, government spooks, and seditional militias collide in Nothin' Short of the Fate O' the Universe. Holed up in a homemade bunker in a rural corner of the future that progress forgot, Waylon Jennings-Bryan is just an ornery, opioid-dependent, recluse hoping to avoid the apocalypse ... and his alleged teenage daughter, Codeine. But when a gunshot in the middle of the night forces him to choose between seclusion and survival, Waylon begrudgingly answers the call of self-preservation. Quickly running afoul of just about everyone (family, neighbors, law enforcement ... antiques dealers), Waylon faces the very real possibility that the two things he has been trying hardest to ignore might be more closely linked than he could have imagined. As he contends with conspiracies, cults, ultra-capitalists and kudzu, Waylon may not be the hero this world needs; he may not be the hero this world deserves. Hell, he may not be the hero at all. But if nothing else, he'll f--k around and find out.
