Synopsis

Jane Lewis is a psychiatrist with a thriving practice in Rayne, Louisiana. But one day a new patient walks into her office who, Jane suspects, may be one of the perpetrators of a terrible gang rape that she and a friend endured 12 years earlier--and that drove her friend to commit suicide. Now, in addition to possible present danger, Jane must confront memories of the past, when she was an overweight, insecure college student with a terrible secret.

Contrary to the so-so ratings, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Each time I finish one of Fern's books, I swear that it's my favorite. Well, this one is no exception. If you love romance, suspense, and animals not necessarily in that order, you will love this one. Give it a try.
