This entry in Jasper Fforde's series has more of Thursday's exploits as well as the literary in-jokes that can be expected. In addition to the usual action-packed yet intellectual and metaphorical ideas found in a common Thursday book, the element of time travel and inter-world travel introduced in previous installments is used with even more confusing yet exciting implications. The unpredictability of the plot but thorough enjoyability of the writing and characters make this a must read. Although this is part of the Thursday Next series, it is also possible to read it as a stand-alone novel although reading the series in order makes you appreciate more of the references towards past events.
