Synopsis

If this book were a movie, it would have an ensemble cast rather than just one or two stars. Stuart Kaminsky weaves a number of subplots around his series hero, Chicago police detective Abe Lieberman. This time, Lieberman must deal with Chicano gangsters, robbers who prey on Korean delis, and, in the most macabre story line, a kidnapper who has abducted the son of a mob informant. Instead of ransom money, the kidnapper is demanding that the informer kill herself if she wants her son to live.
