Synopsis

Adams, a correspondent for National Public Radio, took a year off to learn about the Wright Brothers, and THE FLYERS is the result of his quest. He interviewed descendants of the families who helped the brothers conduct their early flight experiments, and went hang-gliding in the Outer Banks in an attempt to experience the thrill of flight. The author also travelled to France to visit the site of several early demonstration flights by the brothers. THE FLYERS tells the tale of the Wright Brothers, their family, and their love of flight, in true storytelling style.
