This book is a series of short stories/novellas all relating to the story of post-apocalyptic migration of a group of people from the east part of the U.S. to the western part. The first story is a stand-alone story followed by several short stories which take place in the generations after the first story. Most of the stories show strong infuence of the Mormon Church and the people among those travelers who are Mormon and those who are not. It discussed the belief systems and philosphy of the Mormon Church dring the stories and how their beliefs influence their behavior and their reactions to those who are not Mormon. As I said, too much religion for me.
