Synopsis

Orphan Locke Lamora, born on an alien world and raised by a gang of con-artists and thieves, has achieved a kind of notoriety as the leader of a rogue gang known as the Gentlemen Bastards. When his fame catches the eye of an underworld villain, however, Locke finds himself--and his friends--in trouble. This sure-footed debut finds an appealing middle ground between alien fantasy, thriller, and good old-fashioned caper.

I had trouble liking the protagonists because they do several brutal things in the book more akin to villains than heroes... which made me not symapthize with them so much. Also, the main villain's totally out of proportion Master Plan was kind of hard to believe.
