I wrote it thinking about the way that my grandparents and uncles would tell me of the Bible stories in their own unique fashion – rather than just reading it out loud. Paraphrasing and exaggeration were frequent – and frequently funny. I liked that approach a lot. You see, to me, those old boys – Adam and Moses and Abraham and Cain and all those others were folks like you or me. They didn't REALLY know that they were supposed to be biblical. They were just trying to get on with their day – same as you or me. So sit down and read the Holy Word – just the way my Uncle Bob told it to me.
