Synopsis

Growing up in small-town Vermont, nine-year-old Ethan Allen's life revolves around his passion for baseball and his ambition to someday play for the Red Sox. In this baseball fantasy, he is aided in his quest by a mysterious stranger named Teddy Williams, who shows up in order to coach young Ethan in the finer points of the game. Ethan grows up and, sure enough, his dream is realized. But there's another nagging ambition in his life: to find his long-absent father, who is also named Teddy....
