Just way too long. I came into the series with this book, and I enjoyed the concept of the story, but the unabridged version was just endless.Although Dick Hill gave it a good try, the characters as written were underdeveloped, onesided, and wooden. When you write historical fiction, you have to move fluidly between history and fiction, and this book fell just short of bringing the time of Nefer Seti to life. Im sure it is good history it just didnt work very well as epic fiction.
