A well written suspense/romance about a woman named India who comes home to Devlin’s Light, a coastal town in Delaware, after her brother is murdered, and finds love in his best friend Nick as well as a responsibility to raise her niece Corri. She faces the dilemma of wanting to return to her job as a criminal attorney in the city or stay in Devlin’s Light and follow her heart. I really enjoyed the book because of its beach setting including the lighthouse and the mystery unfolding in the story that her brother’s death may not have been an accident and her sister in law’s life may not be as innocent as they thought. I get a little exasperated at India sometimes because she seems to be reluctant to give up her unsatisfying life to have something better for herself and for someone who is so smart she forgets Nick has a sister and ***umes the woman she sees on his deck is a new girlfriend. I hate it when a writer tries to pad a plot like that! The one neat thing about this book I didn’t know is it has recipes! I am dying to try the Strawberry Cheesecake Muffins! They sound yummy!!!! This is the first book I’ve read by her but if she has recipes I plan on reading more even if they are in a series which is starting to bore me. Nice way to spend an autumn afternoon with a good story and looking for the next recipe to show up!
