Synopsis

Told from the point of view of Bridgett Logan, Atticus Kodiak's amore in Greg Rucka's previous novels, this book finds the young, beautiful, and at times self-destructive private investigator trapped in a serious moral dilemma. Ten years ago, friend Lisa Schoof saved the then heroin-addicted Bridgett from suicide. Now Lisa, herself a former junkie, would like Bridgett to repay her by killing a drug dealing pimp bent on either retrieving the money Lisa owes him or indenturing her to a life of prostitution. The determined hoodlum has already threatened the life of Lisa's young son, Gabriel. Bridgett must now decide if Lisa's price for saving her life is too high.
