Synopsis

Be transported to the rolling Scottish Highlands in this sizzling and passionate historical romance from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Ransom. By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. When he encounters Jamie, the feisty and beautiful daughter of Baron Jamison, he immediately selects her, determined to touch, tame, and possess her forever. But Jamie has vowed to never surrender to this fierce highland barbarian. He is everything she had been warned against—an arrogant scoundrel whose rough good looks hint at savage pleasures. And though his scorching kisses fire her blood, she brazenly resists him...until one rapturous moment quells their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire threatens to conquer her completely.

This was a good book by Julie Garwood. I'm noticing the heroine of her stories seems to always be sweet and completely devoted to her man. This is the story of Jamie and Alec. Alec is a scottish laird and Jamie is a simple English girl. Their kings forced them to wed eachother. Jamie is a cute character and Alec is strong. This was a quick read for me and it didn't drag. There is not a lot of history told in the book. I was glad. I hate reading a romance book jam packed with tons of dates and historical events. If I wanted that, I would read a history book. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.
