Synopsis

When Jason, a schizophrenic boy, drowns in a pool behind his house, it's unclear if it was an accident or not. The boy's mother Diana blames the father for the death, but her brother Dave thinks Diana has gone insane. The mystery unfolds in an unconventional fashion, with Dave narrating the story, and also giving an account to a police detective. As the insidious truth becomes unveiled, Jason's death is not the only horror in the family, and Diana and Dave's insane father looms large over their lives. Edgar Allan Poe Award-winner Thomas H. Cook brings his twisted tale to a simmering psychological boil.
