Rent Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

beautifully written, surprisingly emotional. After this audio book I had to buy the book for my own library. It has changed the way I look at Dorothy in the Land of Oz forever.

I am definitely not a tight religious fanatic by any means but after the 5th disc, I politely put the whole set back into the bubble wrap and sent it right back. This book offended me in so many ways I cannot begin to tell you...or maybe I can. How anyone take a wonderful classic like the Wizard of Oz and turn it into a vehicle to inject unnecessary lewdness and defiling imagery is beyond me! . It would be one thing if the author's intent was to get people to see another side of a story they thought they knew and do it in a dark way after all she is a witch but it's another thing to use a classic piece of work as a cover for garbage. To top it off it was not written well, there was missing information and an irrelevant lewd actions that had no real bearing on the storyline AT ALL! This in no way a companion to the original Wizard of Oz but I can certainly see why the author used it to gain people's interest in this piece of trash. If you're looking for a book that will tell you the back-story of the Wicked Witch, this is definitely not the story. The author is obviously hiding behind the original classic to leak idiotic and base imagery into the minds of those who appreciate true storytelling.Save your time and get a book that is worthy of your monthly membership.*****

I heard lots of good things about this book. So, I had to read it. I couldn't wait until I finished it because it was so bad. Very confusing scenes, lots of unexplained events and not what I expected. I didn't like this at all.
