Mo Yan was awarded the Nobel laureate for Literature – the biggest recognition that any writer and author could ever dream of in a lifetime. Incidentally, even just a day after the award was given, bookstores in China ran out of Mo’s books. Customers could only stare at the empty bookshelves and wait for the next batch to arrive.
