Synopsis

Paulo Coehlo’s enchanting story of a boy who goes on a quest after a tantalizing dream will warm the heart of every type of seeker. Told in a simple, engaging style, this tale of an Andalusian shepherd begins as a search for a treasure which, according to his dream, lies hidden beneath the Egyptian pyramids. As young Santiago pursues his goal, he encounters a cast of colorful characters, including an educated Englishman, a camel driver, and an actual alchemist, who open his thoughts and dreams to deeper, more valuable riches of the heart and spirit. The new reader will understand why this fable has had numerous devoted fans since its first publication in 1988 (in Brazil) and discover untold treasures and great truths by taking part in the journey of Coehlo’s charming Santiago.
